Overview
Strathmore Golf Centre, located in Leroch, Alyth, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, opened in 1996 by Kathryn Marshall and has established itself in the heart of the Strathmore valley. The facility features two courses: the Rannaleroch Course, an 18-hole John Salvesen-designed layout measuring 6,454 yards at par 72 (SSS 72), and the nine-hole Leitfie Links at par 29.
The Rannaleroch Course offers varied challenges, with par 3s ranging from 122 to 224 yards and a notable water carry on the par 5 fifth hole. The 12th is identified as the longest hole on the course. The facility has earned recognition for its quality, winning Scotland's Best Golf Course in the Under £75 Category at the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards 2022. Since opening, Strathmore has gained a reputation as the "Friendly Place to Play Golf."
The clubhouse, situated just off the 18th green, provides spectacular views along the vale of Strathmore and houses a full bar, restaurant, and changing rooms with showers for both ladies and gentlemen. Practice facilities include a 10-bay covered and floodlit driving range. Equipment hire includes electric buggies at £18 for nine holes, £30 for 18 holes, or £50 day hire, while trolleys cost £3-£5 depending on usage.
Visitors, groups, and societies are welcomed throughout the year, with options for membership or pay-as-you-play. The centre offers up to 50% off green fees when booking within nine days. The dress code permits smart jeans, though light blue denim is discouraged.
