Anstruther Golf Club
Anstruther Golf Club is a 9-hole, par 31 links course stretching along the shoreline between Anstruther and Pittenweem, 9 miles south of St Andrews in Fife. Founded in 1890 and opened for play in April 1891, the course was originally 7 holes before Old Tom Morris added the 1st and 9th holes in 1896. Measuring 2345 yards, the layout features 5 par 3's and 4 par 4's, with three of the par 3 holes measuring over 200 yards.
The signature hole is "The Rockies," a 235-245 yard par 3 5th hole that was voted the toughest par 3 in the UK in 2007. This challenging hole forms part of the course's "Amen Corner," a trio of demanding par 3's that test even experienced golfers. The club's quality was recognized in 2019 when it reached the final four shortlist for "Best Scottish 9 hole club" at the Scottish Golf Awards, and it remains a member of the historic 1890 Club.
The clubhouse offers views of Anstruther Harbour, the Isle of May, and across the Firth of Forth. Facilities include a licensed bar, the award-winning Rockies Restaurant serving meals all day, changing rooms, and function rooms available for hire. Club hire is available subject to availability, though there is no dedicated pro shop. Green fees start from £27, with 2025 pricing available on the club's website.
