Eilean Donan Castle

Eilean Donan Castle is a reconstructed 13th-century castle on an island at the meeting point of three sea lochs in the Scottish Highlands. The attraction allows visitors to explore nearly every part of the castle while learning about the history of the surrounding area. Visitors can explore the reconstructed castle interior, which includes steep, narrow spiral staircases and corridors. The Visitor Centre contains the ticket office, tourist information, a gift shop, and a coffee shop. Food options include soups, sandwiches, home baking, paninis, baked potatoes, salads, hot dishes, a Food Hall, and Heilan Scran takeaway. The gift shop sells castle prints, guidebooks, whisky glasses, fudge, jigsaws, and Clan MacRae items. Castle admission in 2026 is £13 for adults, £12 for seniors aged 60 or over, £38 for a family of two adults and three children, £6.50 for children over five, and free for under-fives.

For 2026, castle hours vary seasonally: from June 1 to August 31, the castle is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with last admission at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are sold only on site on the day, with no online advance-ticket system. Rucksacks and large bags are prohibited inside, while free lockers are provided beside the Visitor Centre.
